A great advantage in No. 2 scheme lies in the fact that there is no disturbance of existing arrangements, and that work night go on as soon as plans are ready and funds available, building the new Harbour Office on the new site and the new market on the site in front of the present Harbour Office simultaneously, on completion of the former taking down the old Harbour Office and building the subsidiary market, and on complc- tion of these three new buildings, proceeding with the demolition of the old market, the construction of the new street and the laying out of the land on each side of it for sale!

Scheme No. 8 certainly provides the better site for the new markets and makes it possible to open up and improve a crowded and insanitary area.
